Hey Reader, Most people fall into one of two traps when it comes to boundaries at work and in life:
The truth is, boundaries don’t have to make you seem distant or unapproachable. In fact, when done well, they make you more available—just in a way that’s sustainable. Here are three ways to set better boundaries on your terms: 1. Set “Office Hours” for RequestsInstead of handling every “quick question” on demand, designate a time for catch-ups. This keeps you accessible without constant interruptions. – How? Pick a weekly slot (e.g., Tuesdays 2–4 PM) and redirect requests: “Happy to chat! Let’s do it during my open hours.” 2. Frame Boundaries PositivelySaying “no” can sound harsh—so flip it into a positive. ❌ “I don’t take meetings before noon.” This keeps you in control while staying helpful. 3. Shrink Meetings & Convert Them Into EmailsMeetings expand to fill the time you give them—so give them less. 🔹 Batch similar meetings to minimize context-switching. The goal isn’t to say “no” to everything—it’s to say “yes” strategically. Try one of these this week and watch your calendar breathe again. Instead of just aiming for an outcome (e.g., “I want to be more productive” or “I want better work-life balance”), build a repeatable system that ensures you make progress consistently.
