Hey Reader, ⏳ Time Is a Finite Resource—Are You Overspending It? We’ve all heard the advice: Live within your means. Spend less than you earn. Save for the future. Yet while many of us carefully manage our finances, we often overlook an equally important resource—our time. The reality? Most people are in a time trap in ways they would never accept on their bank statements. How We Fall Into Time Trap:Time trap happens when we say “yes” too often, overcommit, and let busyness become our default mode.
And in today’s hyper-connected world, it’s even worse. Social media floods us with a constant stream of people who seem to be effortlessly doing it all. This fuels the illusion that we, too, should be squeezing more into our schedules.
But just like financial debt, time trap comes with interest—paid in stress, burnout, and the painful realization that we’ve spent years on things that don’t truly matter. I know this because I’ve gone through periods of trying to do it all, and then realized that I was climbing up the “wrong” mountain this whole time. How to become time rich:The wealthiest people aren’t just rich in money—they’re rich in time. They guard their calendars like they guard their bank accounts. They invest their time intentionally instead of spending it recklessly. Here’s how you can start doing the same: 🔹 Audit your commitments. Look at your calendar for the next week—what are you doing out of obligation, rather than what matters to you? Identify one thing you can let go/delegate/decline. 🔹 Practice “time budgeting.” Just like you wouldn’t spend money you don’t have, stop spending time you don’t have. Before saying yes to something new, pause and ask: Is this within my means? 🔹 Schedule time for what matters. Block out time for deep work, rest, reflection, and progress on meaningful goals. If you don’t protect your time, someone else will take it. Time wealth isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing what matters. Because at the end of the day, money can be earned back.
Time can’t.
