Do you ever think about what you would tell your younger self if you could go back in time?
If I could turn back time and talk to my younger self, who was knee-deep in her own quarter-life crisis, it would be this:
✅ You are not supposed to figure it all out. I’m still figuring things out in my 30s but your 20s is a great time to start embracing risk-taking and experiment.
✅ Be original. The authentic version of you is your best asset and better than any of the people you are comparing yourself to because only you can impact people the way you do.
✅ Make time for your health and relationships. Money can solve a lot of problems and buy freedom but you can’t buy health and love.
There were many lessons I learned since my 20s, termed as the “Defining Decade”, by Meg Jay, who did a TED talk on “why 30 is not the new 20”, where we go through a transformative period to discover more about ourselves and our self-identity.
During this time, I took some massive risks as well, with my career, my business, and moving across the Atlantic for a person I met 6 months into the relationship.
I hope that these can help you in some way whether you are in your 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond.
Age is just a number, these lessons are ones that I still refer to today and will be into the future.
Here is to living our best years now and ahead to the fullest, pursue our passions without fear, and embracing our authenticity.
To your success,
Laurie 🙌
